Brief Introduction of Secretary Michelle Wang

Michelle Wang traveled to the United States to pursue a master's degree in the late 80's. While devoting herself to her corporate career, Michelle realized that there were a plethora of business opportunities where she lived. Deciding that a vocation as a small entrepreneur would ultimately be more fulfilling, she started and managed a small business with her husband for over two decades.

Currently, Michelle serves as the president of APAPA's New York Chapter. At APAPA, she works with people to create educational and career opportunities for the API (Asian-Pacific Islander) community, inform the community about public policy, and fight against discriminatory practices and policies.

In her personal time, Michelle realized that giving back to and helping her community was something truly rewarding. Ever since serving as a chaperone for her son's kindergarten classroom, Michelle has devoted a significant part of her personal time to public service activities.

She will continue to endeavor and devote her efforts and time to promote educational opportunities, including a college internship program that provides young professionals the opportunity to acquire firsthand experience in government offices.
